Shari Neal: My name is Shari Neal, I'm 26 years old and I am the owner and designer of Bon Bon Vie. I also hold down a full-time job as a web/Flash developer.
AR: How did you come up with BonBonVie?
SN: I've always had a love for design & fashion and I've always wanted my own business, so starting a t-shirt line seemed natural to me. In the very beginning, it started it as a creative outlet where I could just make things and put them out there.
AR: What products does the BonBonVie line carry?
SN: Bon Bon Vie offers t-shirts for men and women, tote bags & baby onesies.
AR: In your opinion, how important is it for women of color to embrace & love themselves for who they are?
SN: I think it's important for everyone, not just women of color to love themselves. It's hard to be happy and fulfilled in this life if you don't appreciate yourself.

ARTIST FEATURE + Q&A ~> GHOST DA LYRICAL
There's not doubt this talented artist is passionate about his craft. Read on to check out AllureRadio's exclusive Q&A with Ghost.
AllureRadio: What made you decide to pursue music as your career choice?
Ghost Da Lyrical: I never really "chose" music. All my life I was surrounded by good music, and with the late great Jackie Wilson's blood flowing through my veins, it's been encoded in my DNA.
AR: Describe your style or are there any artists you get compared to?
GDL: I feel that my style is very versatile; I can basically adapt to almost any genre of music. I've recently been called "The Modern Day DMX". The person who wrote it described it as my voice captivates my audience with power. I like that feeling.
AR: Who are some of your musical inspirations?
GDL: I get over 90% of my inspiration from hip-hop's golden years, which would be the early '90s through late 2003 in my eyes. The exact year things got ugly for hip-hop isn't too clear, but albums like Ready to Die (Biggie), Capital Punishment (Big Pun), All Eyes on Me (Tupac), The Marshall Mathers LP (Eminem), Reasonable Doubt (Jay-Z), It Was Written (Nas) and When Disaster Strikes (Busta Rhymes) have heavily influenced me. I left a couple out, but those are the albums I can't do without.
AR: What is your opinion about today's hip hop & lyricist?
GDL: I feel hip-hop evolved to a point where saturation and mediocrity became a "trend". A lot of artists don't even put any time or effort in what they create anymore. Lyricists has to be the rarest thing in hip-hop now. Guys like Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf, Fred The Godson, J. Cole, Pusha T, and Lloyd Banks hold this title right now, but with pressure from labels to sell records, it won't be long before this list shrinks. One thing I commend is Eminem & Shady records refusing to accept mediocrity, at the expense of not getting radio spins. If fans feel you are dope, they will support you regardless, which is exactly why Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I & Royce Da 5'9 survived without labels for so long before they built Slaughterhouse.
AR: Biggest accomplishment so far in your career?
GDL: I feel the biggest accomplishment in my career is being recognized on an international level. Not only am I currently getting spins out in the United Kingdom, I caught the attention of WU-Tang Management's "DJ Twinn Loco". With that opened up another opportunity in the states, as I am closely affiliated with another Wu- Tang Management representative, "Justis Hype". To have my talents recognized by them is a prestigious honor, and has continued to open doors for me, even now.
AR: Artists you'd like to collaborate with?
GDL: Everyone says Jay-Z or Nas, but I would love to do tracks with Yelawolf, J. Cole, Royce Da 5'9, Fred The Godson and Reek Da Villian.
AR: Most valuable advice you've received regarding the industry?
GDL: A couple of people who do press asked me what would I try to do next, and my natural response was to get record spins on major radio stations in New York. They told me that getting on the radio is nice, but the way the market is going, it would be easier if the radio chased me, versus me chasing the radio. If I market myself beyond radio, I'd have a much easier time accomplishing what I want. Great advice, good looking "Buttaflyy".
AR: What's next for Ghost?
GDL: Well currently, "Mainstream Killah", my third mixtape, is circulating the internet. Great responses from it so far, so expect to see me performing a lot of tracks from it for the year. Also, I'm currently working on a huge mixtape with another artist who shall remain nameless for the time being, but as close as we are, it was only a matter of time before we came up with something like this, and an EP for the late part of 2011.
AR: Any last words for your fans/supporters?
GDL: Shout out to Grapevyn Ent. for giving a struggling artist a chance, Fat Boy Radio for sponsoring the tape, L 'Creme clothing, Skrillz Photography, Kevz and the rest of my UNDVYD team, Wu- Tang Management, DJ Truey, who is responsible for all my radio spins and mixtape placements outside of New York, and last but not least, to Allure Radio for this feature. To any and all fans, whether it's 10 of you or 10,000 of you, you guys are the fire that drives this movement. Your love and support humbles me. Much love also to NiqueNique.

A release date will be made when “High is Coming Down” does what it’s supposed to and reaches a top spot on the charts. We’re still grindin.
Your BET show Brothers to Brutha received a significant amount of viewers. Did you guys expect to gain as much recognition and pull in such a large fan base after only a few episodes?
Definitely not! It was definitely a shock. We were extremely excited and grateful for what the show did for us.
Would you all consider doing a reality show again?
Never say never, but right now we’re just focused totally on the music.
Now I must touch on the rumor mill. There is a recent rumor that the group is now down to 3 members. Is this true? If so, who are the remaining members and can you touch on what cause the group to go from 5 to 3?

The Stephen King of Rap
Illa was born, raised, and played on the streets of North Philly. Before things seemingly began to spin out of control, he relocated to the Richmond, Virginia area so that he could progress positively in life and within his musical career. Illa was blessed with his name from one of his Southern Virginia peers, which pays homage to his hometown of Illadelphia, PA.
From age 15 to the present, Illa has kept both a job and a hustle. This is evident when listening to his music, which touches on everything from hustlin' to make ends meet, to engaging in a legal gig. His unique approach to conveying real life situations in his music showcases his versatility.
Illa has shared the stage in explosive, crowd-moving performances with the likes of TREY SONGZ, JIM JONES, YOUNG JEEZY, LIL WAYNE, CRIMEMOB, LIL BOOSIE, MOBB DEEP, CURRENSY and others. He has appeared on numerous mix-tapes by the HITTMEN DJ'S, THE HEAVYHITTERS, and THE BAD BOYS. He has also created a number of personal mix-tapes.
With a natural inclination toward business, Illa has started several regional labels, modeling agencies, and media outlets. With the upcoming release of his independent album *Illavation* it's lead single "Whateva You Want" is already spinning in the Virginia, Dallas, Atlanta, Tampa, and New York club scenes and radio waves, and has garnered the attention of The SOURCE MAG and other valued musical outlets. Illavation is expected to be released in the spring of 2011.
Check out my exclusive Q&A with Illa while listening to Whateva You Want
What made you decide to pursue music as your career choice?
It's kinda crazy, Me and my niggas used to freestyle on karaoke machines back in Philly. We were young buls so buying blocks of time at the studio was out of the question. People took notice of how nice I was with the words so I kept at it honing my skills until I became a revered MC. It's more than a career for me though, it’s a lifestyle, and writing songs are therapeutic.
Biggest accomplishment so far in your career?
I would say I have 2; 1st one would be working with Trey Songz on the remix of two records that were regional hits in the Virginia area, "Booty Bounce" and "Disco Ballin" The 2nd would be performing at the Richmond coliseum and the Landmark Theatre, those are two stages I used to watch various artists fall thru the city and rock. Just to be able to feel that energy for myself and to get a great response was sick!. Make it 3 things...lol The first time I heard myself on the radio was great, I felt a sense of overwhelming accomplishment and pride.
Artists you'd like to collaborate with?
NAS! That’s my favorite MC period. I think that’s the biggest accomplishment an MC can acquire to have Nas on your project. Black Thought is another one. He's an animal and immensely slept on to me. And last but not least Quincy Jones, I would just like to be in his presence and soak it up. He's the Godfather in my opinion.
Most valuable advice you've received regarding the industry?
90% business 10% music You have to really be up on your P's and Q's in this entertainment industry.
What's next for Illa?
Spring 2011 I will be releasing my debut solo album Illavation, I'm about 2-3 records from what I feel is a brilliant body of work. I'm my hardest critic and the material I've recorded thus far is blowing my mind. I had an opportunity to work with producers who have laced tracks for Keyshia Cole, Missy Elliot, Black Thought, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, & Wiz Khalifa to name a few. I wanna make sure the set up is perfect as far as visuals to go with select records to really bring people into my world.
Last words for your fans/supporters?
I wanna say thanx for the support throughout the years, I love all of ya'll. I wanna thank Allure Radio for giving us artists a lane to get out our music. To aspiring artists I wanna say Don't be afraid to chase your dreams and don't compromise your creativity for no one. It's cool to be unique you can't stand out if your too busy trying to fit in. **Featured Artist: GOODZ MAJOR**
Founder, Artist, and Member of MajorMuzikGroup
Genre: Hip Hop/Rap
Location: Miami, FL
Just when it seemed like the creativity and versatility was
diminishing in the Hip Hop world here came the new breath of fresh air by the name of GooDz aka GooDz Major. Born in Miami, FL, GooDz soaked up influence from artist you may not have expected. Does being from the south make you a southern sounding artist? Sounds like perfect sense, but this is exactly what separates GooDz from the remaining few. Influenced by the sounds of LL Cool J, Notorious B.I.G, Jay-z, and 50 Cent, GooDz sets himself to no boundaries when it comes to creating music.
The music speaks for itself. Every album I've ever listened to as I was growing up has some significant part in the music I create today. Music is a passion for me before anything, which is why I create it respectfully. This Miami native currently possesses an impressive catalog of nine independently
financed and promoted mixtapes, masters graphic design, and produces music in addition to ghost writing for artist. The name is a simple indication of what it means to have everything, GooDz.

The Usual 5 with Goodz
1. What made you decide to pursue music as your career choice?
I've always been a fan of music, I didn't really appreciate the art until I started to create it myself. You learn to appreciate the creativity and skill needed to make your art appealing to the masses. Its a challenge for me that keeps me interested and ups my passion for it.
2. Biggest accomplishment so far in your career?
My biggest accomplishment honestly has to be just my dedication. I started off with a easy mentality and I've since matured in this game ever since mentally and creatively. I've learned that this game owes me nothing and I gotta make things work to my favor. Realizing that and being able to apply it to my everyday life is a major accomplishment because a lot of upcoming artist have a hard time realizing that.
3. Artists you'd like to collaborate with?
Honestly, I'm influenced by sounds everyday, my ear for music is incredible, I listen to rock, and pop in addition to Hip Hop you know, so it makes it versatile. My dream collaboration has always been Ryan Leslie. His creativeness and sound just inspires good music for me.
4. Most valuable advice you've received regarding the industry?
Most valuable advice I received came from a close friend of mine who said "In the Industry they're gonna hate you, then they gonna love you, then they're gonna hate you again, but never take it personal because as long as they do one, they still know you exist and that's all you need". I've been walking with that saying since.
5. What's next for Goodz?
Honestly I don't know what's next for me, but I know it involves sucess and New York City next year. I have a few promising situations in order and I'm just tryna keep my name relevant. So till then ill just keep making the music for my listeners and hope things go the way we see it on this side ya know. You learn in this industry that you can't go on promises or hopes you just gotta make things happen.
