The 2012 BET Awards (hosted by Samuel L. Jackson) went down last night in LA and the stars came out to be a part of the action. For starters, much respect goes to Cissy Houston who sang "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" in tribute to her daughter, the late Whitney Houston. I don't think there was a dry eye in the building. She even brought Soulja Boy to tears. *sigh*. Mariah Carey made a great speech before the Whitney tribute went underway but I'm just sooooo glad she DID NOT sing. (I know, that's rude but I'm just saying). Anywhoo, Chris Brown of course took the crown for best performance. Melanie Fiona did her thing as well. And Usher. And Big Sean..And Kanye. Oh yeah, and D'Angleo made his first televised performance in over 12 years. Kanye tried to give a civilized, politically correct acceptance speech...Kim K was of course in the audience to support her boo thanggood friend...But of course, Jay Z. & Bey were the power couple of the night. Brandy & Monica both sang in the Whitney tribute and killed it. Let's see, what else did I miss....Ummmm, yeah, I can't remember. Those were the highlights for me. This awards wasn't as good as past years but still pretty entertaining. Not to mention it seemed to be NEVER ENDING!! (If you watched the pre-show and the after-show, you were probably stuck on BET for over 6 hours!!) Check out photos and videos after the jump.
So, the producers are the ones that turned the BBW into a hot ass mess, but because Jennifer Williams said what just about every black woman...
